How to Make One Off Registry Gifts Hearty

Does anyone else get small heart palpitations when they look at a wedding registry and all that's left are small items, such as a soap dish or a toilet night light? "What am I supposed to do with this" may cross your mind as this may be a close friend, and you'd like to do more than prevent toe stubbing in the middle of the night.

I once looked at a registry where the only items left were hand towels. In total honesty, I waited till the last minute and the wedding was out of town, so in a pinch, I bought ALL the hand towels. While I was within the appropriate gift spend, I'm sure my gift was not the most exciting one to open.

"Who knew a little thought and time could take a gift to the next level."

What I should have done was attend the wedding, taken advantage of the year rule to send a wedding gift, and mailed my gift later. There's also the more obvious route of planning my time better. I could have bought a few less hand towels and paired them with monogrammed soaps. Who knew a little thought and time could take a gift to the next level. It only took me about 8 years, those hand towels are probably replaced and forgotten by now.

To help others feel more confident in their 'last to the registry' items, I'm sharing inspiration for making small items, that might feel a bit random on their own, into a well received gift.

Ice Cream Scoop

Turn that ice cream scoop into one of their favorite gifts to break out for movie night or any night they want to indulge on ice cream. The below ideas give eating ice cream a fun spin while making prefect sense to pair with an ice cream scoop.

Friendly Note: If you decide on the
ice cream maker attachment, be sure to match the brand with the one they picked for their mixer.

Soap Dish

That poor soap dish, all the other accessories made it on the bought list, there just wasn't room for this one, until you came along. With the right compliments to this accessory they're sure to love it.

Hangers

Closet needs can often be forgotten on a registry. Pair those hangers with closet necessities they didn't know they needed.

Spatula

A spatula can feel random, until you pair it with the below items. Help them keep calm when their flipping skills aren't up to snuff.

Dish Scrubber

They'll be spending a lot of time cooking in their kitchen which will result in a lot of dishes and even onion hands. Prepare them for their new nightly activities of dish scrubbing with these gift pairings, they'll be thankful in the long run.

Toilet Night Light

Is this necessary? Probably so, but you may not be quick to raise your hand at the shower when the gift note taker is asking who gifted the toilet light for the thank you notes. With these pairings you'll at least give them a good laugh.
