I know it can feel a little old school, but I love the tradition of holiday cards. When you think of holiday cards, your mind probably goes to matching outfits in front of a Christmas tree holding a dog. Well, as great as that idea sounds the Mazzola household is a pet-free zone, and I know my husband well enough to know matching outfits just isn't his thing. We could go photo-less but I like the personalized feel a photo adds to the card. So, I opt for gathering one or two photos from our travels throughout the year. It helps our family stay posted on what we're up to and is more authentic to who we are.
I know everyone says to wait until after Thanksgiving to start thinking about Christmas, but you really can't. I still love you, Thanksgiving. Holiday cards take time, not only to decide on one, but then deciding who's making the card list, shipping from the company to you, stuffing, addressing envelopes, and travel time to the recipient. Whew, that was exhausting just typing out. Unless you expedite everything and don't mind people only hanging it up for one day, you need to plan. To help give back time to you and Thanksgiving here are some of my favorite holiday card finds to get you started and to have your cards mailed out by the first week of December.
Save an envelope, choose a postcard. Most cards offer a postcard version to choose from.
Paper Culture is a great Eco-friendly resource for your holiday cards. All of their products are sustainable and made of post-consumer recycled paper. They also plant a tree for every order. This is a great way to take part in the holiday festivities and still maintain your environmental values.
Seed paper cards are beautiful holiday wall art and then can be planted into a year-round enjoyment once the season has passed.
Which one is your favorite? My favorite card trends are minimalist and botanical. I feel like there are so many great options I could buy cards for the next 5 years. It's a good thing we wouldn't have enough travel photos. To see which one I landed on follow my Instagram, @thegiftbulb, I'll be sharing it soon. As always, Happy Gifting!
