Josh had been to the Garden of the Gods when he was younger and wanted to go back when we visited Colorado Springs to go to Pikes Peak. We visited this park on day two of our three-day adventure and paired it with the cave of the winds and a road trip to the Royal Gorge. Charles Elliot Perkins purchased the land containing the Garden of the Gods and preserved it as a public park in 1879. It’s dog friendly and even allows for true rock climbing, with the necessary precautions or instructors for beginners. 1. Is the Garden of the Gods free?Yes, it's a public park. 2. How long is the Garden of the Gods hike? The main trails through the pillared red rock allow for something as easy and quick as a 30-minute hike, up to what could amount to hours dipping in and out of the various side trails. I liked that the park allowed for it to be as long or difficult as you wanted it to be. It was also large enough that we didn't feel too overwhelmed by the crowds. We were able to keep our own space while enjoying the park. We paired this adventure with seeing the Cave of the Winds, not ten minutes from the Garden of the Gods, and a short road trip to the royal gorge. Watch my full 3-day itinerary below. Be sure to share your favorite part of the Garden of the Gods below in the comments. Until next time, XO Katherine Related Posts
