Attending a gift market is the perfect way to get inspired and begin feeling the holiday cheer. Even if you're not ready to make purchases yet, I find it's great to start thinking about your list, especially those hard to buy for people. To help in bringing joy to your loved ones, I'm sharing themes and present ideas noteworthy from my local gift market. Choosing to go to a local gift market positively impacts your community and exposes you to small niche businesses for unique gifts you might not have otherwise known existed. It's easier than one might think, google '(your location) gift market' and see what pops up. There are bound to be a few options from October through December. Personalized GiftsThe level and depth of being able to add personal touches didn't go unnoticed in this market. It's more than adding a name through a tag or embroidery. It's carefully crafting and curating a box specific to a person's character and favorite things. I saw this across several categories, however, it was dominant in self-care items. My best-loved execution of this was from Sandra V Bath & Body. This shop has a licensed cosmetologist to assist in skincare recommendations, and you can contact them to put together a customized gift box for the one you're shopping for or when you treat yourself. For those of us with loved ones in different locations that we don't see every year, this is ideal for a ready to open present when ordering online to deliver straight to the receiver. Sustainable GiftsThere were a significant amount of eco-friendly-focused booths at my local market. The one that stood out to me was from One Tribe 2019. With products handmade by artisans worldwide, their felt birdhouses and ornaments make for an individualistic gift choice. Food GiftsFood Gifts are my go-to for anyone I'm having trouble knowing what to get, or for those times I find myself needing something for someone I don't know very well. A perk of visiting these booths at the market is being able to taste what you're gifting. You can trust it's good and they'll enjoy it because you have. Shosho's Kitchen uses combinations for their jams that are fun and intriguing. It would be easy to pick a few to match someone's personality with their versatile range of flavors. Gift WrapFor me, wrapping presents is a beloved part of the process because it's the beginning of the excitement. Sadie Belles Boutique not only has a lovely selection of ribbons, but they also offer bow-making classes. Bows are always the trickiest part when I'm wrapping. Christmas DecorJust because other people are top of mind doesn't mean you can't look for yourself too. A holiday market is a great place to find enhancements to your decor themes. These signs from Willow's Corner Boutique would make a great addition to your outdoor Christmas decor. I hope this recap has encouraged you to explore your city's gift market and helped give direction in options for people on your Christmas list this year. Happy gifting!
