Lately, my skin has been drier than usual, even with applying moisturizing lotion day and night. This led me to want to make a DIY face mask, and I chose avocado for the main ingredient because of its moisturizing properties. Today, I'm sharing my face mask recipe that moisturizes, exfoliates, and leaves your skin glowing.
Homemade face masks allow for natural ingredients, skincare on your own time, and they can be more cost-efficient. Below are a few benefits of using the ingredients I chose, avocado, orange, and honey.
Avocado Benefits for Skin
Avocado hydrates your skin and reduces inflammation and redness.
Orange Juice Benefits for Skin
Orange Juice helps to exfoliate your skin as well as drying out and preventing acne.
Honey Benefits for Skin
Honey has numerous benefits for your skin. The reasons I used it were because it moisturizes your face and opens your pores to cleanse blackheads. It also acts as a natural anti-aging compound.
Mash up the avocado with a fork and mix in the orange juice and honey. Since I hand mashed the avocado, it was a little lumpy, but it wasn't falling off or anything. Apply to a clean face and leave it on for 15 minutes. The recipe yields enough for two masks, so you can share with a friend or save the rest for later. I put saran wrap over the bowl, and it lasted for three days.
What I liked the most about this avocado face mask recipe was it felt refreshing when I had it on, and it left my skin feeling smooth with a slight glow.
